Fersan Filtre Successfully Goes Live with IFS ERP under Egeria Management
Fersan, a leading manufacturer of vacuum cleaner bags and filters in Turkey for 36 years, has gone live with its IFS ERP project aimed at building corporate know-how and managing operations more efficiently. The transformation process, managed by Egeria, was meticulously planned and swiftly executed with high motivation from the Fersan team and the expertise of Egeria. After a parallel run since May, the project fully transitioned to IFS ERP as of January 1, 2025. Fersan’s successful management of this process once again demonstrates the company’s visionary approach.
Creating a Corporate Structure Independent of Individuals Is the Project’s Key Goal
At the beginning of 2024, Fersan’s management decided to transition to an ERP system to ensure the company’s long-term sustainability. Moving away from a management style dependent on individuals and establishing a systematic corporate structure was identified as a primary objective of this transformation. Despite initial concerns about the ERP transition, Fersan Filter’s Chairperson Serpil Erdoğan emphasized their belief that with the right team and consulting support, these obstacles could be overcome. She acknowledged that the ERP project required significant financial and emotional investment. Though they faced challenges such as infrastructure gaps and insufficient personnel in the early stages, they successfully managed the process through careful planning and a dedicated team.
Real-Time Reporting Provides the Greatest Convenience
One of the ERP system’s biggest advantages is enabling Fersan’s management to fully oversee all production and operational processes and clearly visualize the company’s future. Hasan Öcal, Member of Fersan Filter’s Board, highlighted the comfort of being able to track all data—from shipments to production processes, inventory management to financial reporting—in real-time. He added, “Thanks to this system, Fersan aims to make faster, more informed decisions to increase production efficiency and sales performance.”
Plans to Utilize Full IFS Infrastructure Including Finite Capacity Scheduling Module
Following the successful go-live of the ERP system, the Fersan ERP Project Team (Planning Manager Hakan İnal, Planning Project Engineers Ege Pehlivanoğlu and Numan Menekşe) aims to further advance the process. They plan to fully integrate yet-to-be-launched quality management, maintenance, and R&D processes into the system, enabling comprehensive use of IFS ERP. Additionally, other business processes of group companies and the web-based sales system are planned to be included in the ERP infrastructure in 2025. The implementation of finite capacity planning with IFS ERP is also among the project’s 2025 goals.
“We Achieved a Successful and Rapid Transition with Egeria”
Planning Manager Hakan İnal noted that working with Egeria was a significant advantage in their ERP transition. He emphasized that the Egeria team’s strong communication and constant support in every needed area played a key role in the project’s quick and successful progress.
Advice for Companies Considering ERP Implementation:
The importance of consulting services should be considered alongside the software itself during ERP selection.
Full support from top management is a critical factor directly affecting the success of the process.
Prior to go-live, it is essential that personnel receive adequate training and the system undergoes thorough testing.
Post-implementation support services should be one of the key criteria in selecting an ERP system.
Thanks to the successful ERP transformation with Egeria, Fersan Filtre can now manage its production processes more effectively and efficiently. The company regards this transformation as a starting point and continues to move confidently toward its future goals.
